Painting Factory XM/onstar Antenna

has anyone ever tried to paint their factory onstar/xm antenna?

I have the factory combo antenna, and have modified it to use the GPS antenna portion of it to be the GPS antenna for my pioneer head unit, and I would love to paint the base to match my car while I have it off...but, will this cause issues with it's reception?
