Painting-Factory: Painting-Factory: Ithaca Art Factory - "Mondrian for ...

After mondrian smaller

I had the privilege to be taught drawing at Cooper Union by Robert Slutzky, a student of Piet Mondrian's.  Before I ever entered Coopoer, I loved Mondrian's white paintings with black lines and vibrant primary colors.  But at Cooper, Bob Slutzky used to tell me that I drew like a coal miner! (some things never change) and I laughed myself hysterically years later when I saw that Mondrian used to paint while he was pretty much dressed in a business suit!  I've always wanted to try his painting style so I picked up some cool 1/4" masking tape and I think I've found an easy and fun way to play with his style.

Join me in the Factory on Friday, Feb. 10th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. when well play with some tape, primary colors, and black canvases to make your version of a Mondrian grid painting.

Sign up on the calendar page for February and invite your facebook friends to join you.

The cost for one painter is $35 USD and $30 each for two painters if you sign up with a friend at the time of purchase.
